These Terms and Conditions govern your use of this website and your engagement with Escapement for watch repair services. By accessing this website or requesting a service, you agree to these terms. Please read them before proceeding.

1. Definitions

• "Escapement" / "we" / "us" — Escapement, operating from 12 Mittraphap Road, Nai Muang, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand
• "Client" / "you" — any individual who contacts us, submits a watch for service, or uses this website
• "Service" — any watch repair, polishing, or restoration work carried out by Escapement
• "Assessment" — the written evaluation and cost estimate provided before work begins
• "Agreement" — the contract formed when a client approves a written assessment

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or requesting a service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter an agreement, and accept these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not accept these terms, you should not use this website or our services.

3. Service Description

Escapement provides watch repair and restoration services at our workshop in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Services are available to individuals in Thailand and by arrangement to clients located elsewhere. Our current services are:

• Spring & Stem Repair — from ฿4,500
• Case & Bracelet Polish — from ฿10,500
• Complete Restoration — from ฿29,500

Services are subject to availability and the condition of the watch presented. We reserve the right to decline a job if we assess it as outside our current scope.

4. Service Process and Scope

No work is carried out until a written assessment has been provided and approved by the client. The assessment sets out the scope of work and the estimated cost. If additional issues are identified during the job, we will contact the client before proceeding. Work will not be extended beyond the original scope without approval.

For restoration work involving part sourcing, all sourcing options and associated costs are communicated to the client before any order is placed.

5. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted and payable in Thai Baht (฿). Payment is due on collection of the watch. We accept cash and bank transfer. We do not accept payment by cheque. Prices stated at assessment are final unless scope changes are approved by the client during the job.

If a client does not collect a watch within 90 days of notification that it is ready, Escapement reserves the right to charge a storage fee of ฿200 per week thereafter.

6. Client Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the watch and any known history of prior work
• Respond to assessment and progress communications within a reasonable timeframe
• Collect the watch within a reasonable time after completion notification
• Disclose any known sensitivities of the piece (fragile parts, previous repairs, unusual materials)

7. Ownership and Risk

By leaving a watch with Escapement, you confirm that you are the owner or have the owner's authority to authorise repair work. We store all watches securely and maintain photographic records. Risk of loss or damage during storage is covered by our in-workshop insurance for standard pieces. For high-value items, we recommend discussing your own insurance coverage before leaving the watch with us.

8. Disclaimers

Escapement will carry out all work with appropriate care and skill. However, we cannot warrant specific timing accuracy outcomes, as these depend on the condition and age of the movement. Where a watch has pre-existing faults not disclosed at intake, our liability for any associated issues is limited.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, or defects that are identified only after disassembly and are consistent with the age or prior use of the watch.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Escapement's liability is limited to the cost of the service provided. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Our liability for loss or damage to a watch while in our care is limited to the assessed replacement or repair value agreed at intake.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, design, and images, is the property of Escapement. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of this website without our written permission.

11. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work begins, with no charge to the client. If work has commenced and the client wishes to cancel, a partial charge may apply reflecting work already completed. We will discuss this on a case-by-case basis.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we encourage direct contact in the first instance. Most concerns can be resolved through straightforward communication. If a formal resolution is required, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Khon Kaen Province.

13. General Provisions

These Terms constitute the full agreement between Escapement and the client regarding services described herein. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute waiver of it.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our website or services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
